Each year, the GeriEM section dedicates several months to preparing its proposals for symposia and lectures for the EUSEM Congress. At this year’s meeting, more than 3,600 participants from 76 countries attended, and we were delighted to see our strongest engagement yet with the GeriEM programme streams.
All scientific programme proposals must be submitted through EUSEM’s various sections; there is no external open call. As we begin shaping our submission for the 2026 Congress, we warmly invite members to volunteer and propose topics or themes they believe would enrich the programme. Your insights and creativity are essential in ensuring that GeriEM remains visible and impactful within the wider EM community.
Our proposals are reviewed competitively, and in most years around half are accepted. While we cannot offer guarantees, we are committed to putting forward an ambitious programme that reflects the breadth of our membership. We look forward to receiving your suggestions before we finalise our section’s submission in early January 2026.
